Students participate in four years of classroom-based learning supported by various experiential activities, such as laboratory practice, internships, and other enrichment opportunities. The 2+1+1 Program is structured to provide a more holistic and flexible learning experience. Under this scheme, students spend their first two years studying at their home campus. In their third year, they may choose to continue their studies for one year at another BINUS University campus located in a different city. In addition, students can participate in a one-year Enrichment Program designed to strengthen their academic and professional competencies.

In practice, the BINUS University 2+1+1 Program consists of three main components:

1. Mobility Program

The Mobility Program is one of BINUS University’s flagship innovations, offering a cross-campus learning experience that is rarely found at other higher education institutions. Through this program, students have the opportunity to experience studying at a BINUS University campus in a different city.

Students become eligible to join the Mobility Program starting from Semester 5, and the program runs for one academic year. Throughout the program, students continue to follow the same curriculum as their major, ensuring academic consistency despite studying at a different BINUS campus.

For example, students from BINUS @Bandung, BINUS @Malang, BINUS @Semarang, or BINUS @Medan may spend one year studying at BINUS @Greater Jakarta.

BINUS University currently operates campuses across five major cities in Indonesia: BINUS @Bandung, BINUS @Malang, BINUS @Semarang, BINUS @Medan, and BINUS @Greater Jakarta. Within the Greater Jakarta area, students participating in the Mobility Program can study at any of the following seven campuses: BINUS Syahdan Campus, BINUS Anggrek Campus, BINUS Kijang Campus, BINUS The Joseph Wibowo Center (JWC), BINUS FX Senayan Campus, BINUS @Alam Sutera, and BINUS @Bekasi.

2. Minor Program

In addition to the Mobility Program, students may choose to participate in the Minor Program, which is optional. Alternatively, they may pursue a Streaming pathway. The Streaming pathway is designed to provide more specialized knowledge within a particular field of study that reflects current industry needs while deepening students’ expertise in their major.

Unlike Streaming, the Minor Program focuses on enriching students’ learning through interdisciplinary knowledge and skills. Students can take a Minor Program concurrently with the Mobility Program and may choose a field of study that differs from their major at another BINUS campus. This learning model is designed to broaden students’ competencies, encouraging them to develop expertise beyond a single academic discipline.

3. Enrichment Program

The final component is the Enrichment Program, which students may undertake starting in Semester 7. The program lasts for one academic year, equivalent to two semesters.

Students participating in the Enrichment Program can choose one of six pathways:

• Research
• Community Development
• Entrepreneurship
• Study Abroad
• Professional Internship
• Further Study

Through these experiential learning opportunities, students gain practical exposure, professional experience, and valuable insights that help prepare them for future academic and career success.
