Academic Leave

Academic Leave, or study leave, can be officially requested from the Head of the School/Faculty if the student submits an application with valid and accountable reasons.

How Many Times Can Students Apply for Academic Leave During Their Study Period?

Students are allowed to apply for academic leave for a maximum of 2 (two) semesters during their study period. The duration of academic leave will still be counted as part of the student’s total study period. If students wish to apply for 2 (two) consecutive semesters, the application must still be submitted separately for each semester.

How to Request Academic Leave

To apply for academic leave, students must follow these steps. If applying for two consecutive semesters, a separate application must be submitted for each semester. Requests should be submitted at least 1 month before the start of the semester or period. Keep in mind that academic leave is still counted as part of the student’s total study period.

1. Application Process:

• Fill out the deferment form at Student Services, including the reason for the leave. For Binus International students (Undergraduate Program), the form must also be signed by the student and their parents.
• Email the completed form to the Head of Program for approval.
• Once approved, you will receive details of the academic leave fee.

2. Fees:

• Undergraduate (Binus International): Based on the fixed tuition fee per semester.
• Postgraduate (Binus Business School): Rp. 1,200,000 per semester.

3. Final Steps:

• Pay the academic leave fee.
• Once the fee is paid, the student’s status will officially change to “academic leave.”
