What Are Student Organizations?

Student organizations are platforms for students to develop their potential, voice their aspirations, and initiate positive and creative ideas through various activities. These activities align with national education goals and support the vision, mission, and core values of BINUS University.


Why Should Students Join Student Organizations?

Joining student organizations provides opportunities for personal growth, not only in terms of hard skills (technical abilities) but also soft skills such as leadership, communication, and teamwork. These skills will become valuable assets for students as they prepare for future challenges beyond university life.


What Should You Know About Student Organizations at BINUS University?

At BINUS University, student organizations are categorized into two main groups:

  1. Student Association (HMJ)

  2. Student Activity Units (UKM)

These organizations are available across all BINUS University campuses, including BINUS @Greater Jakarta (Kemanggisan, Alam Sutera, Bekasi, and Senayan), BINUS @Bandung, BINUS @Malang, and BINUS @Semarang.


What Is a Student Association (HMJ)?

The Student Association (HMJ) is one of the student organizations under the supervision of BINUS University Student Affairs. Its members consist of students from the same study program. Currently, there are 30 Student Associations (HMJ) across all BINUS University campuses.


What Are Student Activity Units (UKM)?

Student Activity Units (UKM) are communities where students with shared interests, hobbies, or talents can come together. UKMs provide a space for creativity and extracurricular activities.
Currently, BINUS University has 42 UKMs, grouped into four main clusters:

  • Reasoning Cluster

  • Arts & Media Cluster

  • Religious & Social Cluster

  • Sports & Martial Arts Cluster
