What is Friends Care Community?

Friends Care Community is a community for students who are passionate about mental health and disability advocacy. Through this community, students can contribute by choosing one of three roles: Peer Counselor, Peer Partner, or Creative Team.

All members receive Psychological First Aid (PFA) training provided by HIMPSI (Indonesian Psychological Association), along with specialized training tailored to their chosen role. These training programs equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to provide meaningful support to their peers.

What Roles Are Available in Friends Care Community?

There are three key roles that students can choose from when joining the community:

1. Peer Counselor
   Students who serve as empathetic listeners and provide a safe space for fellow students to share their concerns and experiences.
2. Peer Partner
   Students who act as discussion partners and companions for students with disabilities or special needs, helping them navigate daily academic activities and campus life.
3. Creative Team
   Students responsible for developing and creating digital campaign content to raise awareness about mental health and disability-related issues.

These roles are carried out for one academic semester. At the end of the term, members undergo an evaluation process. Students who wish to continue their involvement, whether in the same role or a different one, are required to participate in the recruitment and selection process for the following semester.

How Can You Join Friends Care Community?

Students who would like to learn more about the roles within Friends Care Community or explore content related to mental health and disability can visit the Instagram account @friendscarecommunity.

The open recruitment and selection process is generally conducted one to two months before the start of each semester. Information regarding recruitment schedules and eligibility requirements will be announced through official promotional materials.

Students who successfully pass the selection process will participate in several preparatory programs, including:

• Psychological First Aid (PFA) Training
• Role orientation and training provided by the Student Development Center (SDC)
• Specialized training based on the selected role

Following these training sessions, members will take part in an induction program designed to help them fully understand their responsibilities. Once the semester begins, they will start carrying out their roles under the guidance of the SASC across campus locations.
