Attendance status describes the data of a student’s attendance for a specific course taken in the current semester during lectures. This status determines the student’s eligibility to take the Final Semester Examination (UAS). Student attendance status is indicated by specific colors, each with its meaning:

  • Green means attendance meets the minimum requirement to take the exam.
  • Yellow means attendance still meets the minimum requirement, but some lecture sessions were missed.
  • Orange means attendance almost does not meet the minimum requirement because many sessions were missed. Students are urged to attend upcoming sessions.
  • Red means attendance does not meet the minimum requirement to take the exam.

How to Check Attendance Status?

Attendance status can be viewed on BINUSMAYA Academic Services under the Learning menu by selecting Attendance Information, then the current semester, and the course name.

Why Check Attendance Status?

According to the requirements for eligibility to take the Final Exam, each student must check their attendance status after each class session to ensure it is recorded properly. If attendance is not checked and it shows absent despite attendance, absence may exceed the limit. Exceeding this limit results in ineligibility to take the UAS, causing the final grade to be F. Failing many courses may require retaking them and delay graduation.

Regular monitoring of attendance status is important as it shows student responsibility and commitment.

What Are the Attendance Requirements to Be Eligible for UAS?

Learning consists of two components:

  • Lecture (LEC): theoretical learning.

  • Laboratory (LAB): practical learning.

Both can be delivered:

  • Face to Face (F2F): direct in-class or laboratory attendance.

  • Guided Self-Learning Class (GSLC): independent online learning using discussion forums via BINUSMAYA.

Students must attend at least 85% of total sessions in both Lecture and Laboratory components to be eligible for UAS. If a course includes both LEC and LAB, each must meet the 85% minimum.

Absences are permitted for force majeure events such as natural disasters, bereavement, illness requiring hospitalization, with supporting documents reported to the Lecture Service Center (LSC) or equivalent.

Each course has a maximum allowable absence count. For example:

“The Script Writing course has 13 LEC and 13 LAB sessions. Students must attend at least 11 sessions in each component. Attending fewer than 11 in either means not eligible for UAS.”

What If There Are Issues With Attendance Status?

Issues may include being present but not recorded or technical network problems during attendance recording. Students must promptly consult LSC or equivalent after class, providing name, student ID, study program, incident details, and attendance proof or issue evidence.
