The Software Laboratory Center (SLC) is a technical service unit at BINUS University that plays a crucial role in supporting software-based practical sessions across various study programs, particularly in the fields of information technology and computer science.

Core Functions of SLC

1. Providing Practical Facilities

SLC manages computer laboratories equipped with up-to-date hardware specifications and software tailored to each course’s learning objectives.

Each lab is integrated with BINUS’s internal network system and operates under strict technical monitoring and supervision.

2. Supporting Practice-Based Courses

SLC supports a wide range of hands-on courses, including:

  • Programming (Java, Python, C++)

  • Database Systems

  • Web Programming

  • Software Engineering Tools

  • Multimedia

  • Networking

  • Artificial Intelligence Tools

  • Office Applications

3. Bridging Theory and Practice

Students apply theoretical concepts learned in lectures through hands-on exercises and mini-projects conducted in SLC laboratories.

Infrastructure and Location

  • Main Location: 6th and 7th Floors, BINUS Anggrek Campus

  • Active Computers: More than 1,200 computer units

  • Active Labs: Around 30 laboratory rooms

  • Additional Facilities:

    • Cyber@ccess: A dedicated computer room with 70 PCs for internet access and self-study

Over 400 computers are upgraded annually to ensure students have access to the latest technology in every practical session.

Supporting Team Structure

SLC operations are managed by a team of professionals consisting of:

  • Operational Manager

  • Technical Division Coordinators (e.g., Subject Coordinator, Network Coordinator)

  • Course Developers

  • Teaching Assistants (TAs)

  • Internal & External Administrators

Teaching Assistants work closely with students during practical sessions to guide them through the material and ensure activities follow proper procedures.
