Reasons Why Students Need to Reactivate Their Inactive Student Status and Reactivation Process
During their studies, a student may be declared inactive, meaning they do not have a class schedule for the ongoing semester.
What Causes Students to Become Inactive?
Inactive students are those who fail to complete administrative processes, such as payment or registration, which disrupt their learning activities. To reactivate their status, students must complete the necessary registration and payment processes.
The following are common reasons why a student may be declared inactive and require reactivation to enroll in courses (KRS) or participate in the upcoming semester:
- Failure to Pay Development Fee and Course Credit Fees (SKS): Students do not pay Development Fees and course credit fees (SKS).
- Partial Payment: Students pay Development Fees but fail to pay for SKS.
- Package Program Issues: Students in a package program pay Development Fees but fail to complete the KRS registration process or do not register for KRS at all.
These situations result in students being classified as having an Inactive or Unofficial Leave status. This inactive status can hinder timely graduation and impact academic evaluations because the student does not attend classes or accumulate additional SKS credits.
How to Reactivate Academic Status?
Students who are not actively studying and have not applied for academic leave must apply for reactivation to resume their studies in the following semester. Students must consult with student services to review their academic status and create a plan to ensure they graduate within their study period.
Here’s the summarized process for student reactivation:
- Continuing Study Form:
- After confirming their ability to continue and complete their studies, students must fill out the Continuing Study Form at student services.
- Student services will seek approval from the Head of Program.
- Once approved, students will be informed of any obligations they need to settle.
-
Course Enrollment:
- Undergraduate (BINUS INTERNATIONAL): Enrollment for failed or retake courses can be done via Binusmaya.
- Postgraduate (BINUS BUSINESS SCHOOL): Enrollment is completed by filling out the enrollment form at student services.
