NIM Format Adjustment at BINUS University

Have you ever checked your data on the Higher Education Database (PDDIKTI) and noticed that the Student Identification Number (NIM) displayed there contains additional digits compared to your original BINUS University NIM?

BINUS University has implemented an adjustment to the NIM format used in the PDDIKTI system by adding three additional digits at the end of the original NIM. This adjustment is made to comply with national higher education data standardization requirements and does not affect a student’s academic identity.

Explanation of the Additional Digits

  • 2 additional digits: Study Program Code
  • 1 additional digit: Education Level Code

Why Is My NIM Different in PDDIKTI?

Differences in NIM formatting often raise questions, especially when the information displayed in PDDIKTI is compared with official academic documents such as diplomas or transcripts.

In general, PDDIKTI displays the NIM using the following format:

Original NIM + 3 additional digits (Study Program Code & Education Level Code)

Example (for illustration purposes only):
1601289365 + 391

This difference is a system generated adjustment and does not indicate any discrepancy or error in your academic records.

(The image below is provided for illustration purposes only and shows how the adjusted NIM format may appear in the PDDIKTI system.)

If you require an official document explaining this difference in NIM format, for example for employment applications or further studies, you may request a Forlap Dikti Verification Letter (Surat Keterangan Forlap Dikti).
