The Library and Knowledge Center (LKC) BINUS University welcomes book donations from anyone, whether BINUSIANs or members of the general public, who wish to contribute to the development of the university’s collection and support academic literacy.

Book donations are a meaningful way to support the teaching and learning process while enriching the range of references available at BINUS University.


📚 Types and Criteria of Books Accepted for Donation

To ensure donated books can be utilized effectively, they should meet the following criteria:

  1. Original Books
    Books must be original copies and not photocopied or pirated editions.
  2. Published Within the Last 5 Years
    Books should generally be published within the last five years. Exceptions apply to books related to literature, history, and law, which may be older.
  3. Relevant to BINUS Study Programs
    Books should be related to or support the academic programs offered at BINUS University.
  4. Good Physical Condition
    Books must be in good condition, with no significant damage, torn pages, or broken bindings, and should be suitable for use.

🧾 Book Donation Procedure at LKC

If your books meet the criteria above, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit an LKC Location
    Bring your donated books directly to the nearest LKC branch.
  2. Complete the Donation Form
    LKC staff will provide a book donation form for the donor to fill out.
  3. Book Assessment
    LKC staff will inspect the books and verify that they meet the donation criteria.
  4. Selection Process
    • If the books meet the criteria, they will be accepted for further processing.
    • If the books do not meet the criteria, they will be returned to the donor.
  5. Thank-You Letter
    LKC will send a thank-you letter as a token of appreciation to the donor.
  6. Book Processing
    Accepted books will undergo cataloging and processing, which may take up to one month after receipt.
  7. Available for BINUSIANs
    Once processing is completed, the books will be added to the library system and made available for use by students and lecturers.
