Guidelines for Requesting a Recommendation Letter for BINUS University Students and Alumni

BINUS University provides Recommendation Letters for both active students and alumni who require official recommendations for purposes such as pursuing further studies or applying for scholarships. Please review the following requirements and procedures before submitting your request.
Types of Recommendation Letters
1. Recommendation Letter for Active Students
This letter is intended for students who are currently enrolled at BINUS University.
2. Recommendation Letter for Alumni
This letter is intended for BINUS University alumni who require a recommendation, typically for further education or scholarship applications.
General Requirements
Requests can be submitted through BINUS Support at the respective campus or via email at halobinus@binus.edu.
Both students and alumni must have a minimum GPA of 2.75.
Requirements for Active Students
Applicants must provide:
- A scanned copy of their Academic Transcript (DNK – Daftar Nilai Kumulatif).
- A clear explanation of the purpose of the recommendation letter, such as a scholarship application or further study program.
- Supporting documents, such as links or screenshots showing that a recommendation letter is required.
Requirements for Alumni
Recommendation letters for alumni are generally requested for postgraduate studies or scholarship applications. The following documents must be provided:
- A scanned copy of the Degree Certificate and Academic Transcript.
- The name of the target university.
- The name of the intended study program or major.
- The name of the scholarship program (if applicable).
- Supporting documents, including the university website link and screenshots of the application requirements indicating the need for a recommendation letter.
Letter Authorization
Recommendation letters will be reviewed and signed by either:
- The Head of Department (HoD), or
- The Head of Program (HoP).
Processing Time
- Recommendation letters will be processed within three (3) working days after all required documents have been submitted and verified as complete.
- Sundays and public holidays are excluded from the processing period.
