The library is an ideal place to gain knowledge, find references, study, and conduct research. However, some visitors often make mistakes that can affect their own comfort as well as that of others. Here are five common mistakes that often occur at BINUS LKC Library:

1. Sleeping in the Library

Sleeping in the library is a common habit, whether due to fatigue or unintentionally. However, sleeping in the library can disturb other visitors and reduce the primary purpose of the library as a study space. It’s best to use the library for reading and completing assignments, not as a resting area.

2. Bringing Drinks in Cups

Visitors are only allowed to bring personal water bottles with secure lids or tumblers. Drinks in cups are prohibited as they can easily spill and damage books or electronic devices in the library.

3. Bringing Bags into the Reading Area

Many visitors go straight to the reading area, recreation room, or other spaces without storing their bags in the lockers provided. For safety and comfort, please store your bag in the available locker before entering the library area. If you’re unsure where the lockers are or how to borrow a key, ask the staff at the Circulation Desk.

4. Returning Books Directly to the Shelves

After reading, some visitors return books directly to the shelves or leave them anywhere. This is not recommended because the books can be misplaced and become difficult to find. The solution is to place the books on the trolley provided by the library.

5. Failing to Return Books on Time

Even though reminders are sent via email and the borrowing period is only 2 weeks, many visitors still forget to return their books on time. As a result, fines will apply according to regulations. Always make sure to return or renew your borrowed books before the due date.

By avoiding these five mistakes, the library will remain a comfortable, tidy, and conducive environment for all visitors. Let’s work together to maintain the rules so that the library can provide the best benefits for everyone.
