In order to internalize the values upheld at BINUS, particularly the value of integrity, BINUS has implemented the Student Activity Code of Conduct (PTTAK) since 2023. This regulation outlines the rights, obligations, and prohibitions for all BINUS students in carrying out academic and non-academic activities.
One of the prohibitions clearly stated in the PTTAK is the forgery of documents and/or signatures.
Why Is Forgery Prohibited?
The forgery of documents and/or signatures is not merely a minor administrative violation. It is also considered a criminal offense under the Indonesian Criminal Code.
Such actions can:
-
Damage the integrity of BINUS students
-
Cause harm to other parties
-
Undermine trust in the academic system
-
Negatively affect personal and institutional reputation
This prohibition applies to all documents submitted to the University for academic and non-academic purposes, including:
-
Documents for class attendance dispensations
-
Signatures on approval or endorsement forms from lecturers
-
Consent forms from parents/guardians
-
Other official administrative documents
Any form of falsification, alteration, or unauthorized use of documents or signatures is considered a serious violation.
Sanctions for Document Forgery
The provisions regarding document and/or signature forgery are regulated in Article 14 paragraph (2) point (c) of the PTTAK, which states:
“Any student who falsifies, alters, removes, or damages part or all of the data, information, documents, and/or signatures belonging to the University and/or other parties without authorization, with the intention of making them appear authentic, shall be subject to the following sanctions:
Suspension for one (1) semester for the first offense; and
Dismissal as a student for the second offense.”
These sanctions reflect BINUS’s strong commitment to upholding integrity within the academic community.
BINUS students are expected to uphold honesty, responsibility, and integrity in all academic and organizational activities.
Using valid, authentic, and accountable documents is not only an administrative requirement but also a reflection of professional and ethical character.
By complying with the PTTAK, students contribute to creating a trustworthy, fair, and integrity-driven campus environment.
